Each Class has four (4) full sets of armor available to them within Norrath. Three (3) of these sets are quested, while the fourth (4th) is dropped off Planar Mobs. The order of difficulty in obtaining one of these sets of armor from hardest to easiest are:

To be able to complete these quests, the Skyshrine, Kael, and Thurgadin quests all require that you have indifferent or higher faction. The faction required is:

For each quest, you are required to turn in three (3) gem components plus one (1) armor component. For each particular piece and class, the gem component always remains the same. The armor piece is the differentiating component which makes the quests specific to each city. In other words, if you have attained the gems for the Enchanter Thurgadin Boots, the same gems will work for the quest from Kael or the quest from Skyshrine. All items for these quests are dropped. Below is a chart showing which gems are used for each quested item.

For the Skyshrine quests, hunt in the Temple of Veeshan in the "Testing Halls". The Testing Halls are a very high level area - requiring about 24 people. Drop rate unknown. For the Kael Drakkal quests, hunt in the Temple of Veeshan in any area *except* the Testing Halls and the Entry. Everything here is level 60+ requiring a minimum of 18 high level people. Drops are 8 pieces in an 8 hour hunt. For the Thurgadin quests, hunt in Kael Drakkal near the Arena. You should look for the level 53+ Veterans, Adjudants and Legionnaires, they seem to have the best chance of dropping the armor components. Drop rate is 1-2 pieces in a 6 hour hunt and can be done with one high level group.

Plane of Growth & Plane of Hate Dropped Armor

For each class, the (possibly) easiest and certainly fastest to acquire a full set of armor is the dropped planar sets. For most classes, the armor may be found in the Plane of Growth. For Druids, Rangers and Paladins the armor may be found on the second floor of the Plane of Hate. The Mobs which drop the armor do so very rarely, but as a rule in the Plane of Growth you can expect to see about 8 to 10 pieces in an 8 hour session clearing the plane. The armor pieces tend to be found on level 55+ creatures. In each case the armor may be worn by all races which can play the class, including Iksar. Below is a chart of the armor names for both Velious and Planar Armor. The red depicts the best planar armor for that particular class. Plane of Mischief and Plane of Fear were added to show that full armor does drop, but not the best. Plane of Air does not drop full sets of any armor, it is mainly a quest Plane.
